Memorial Day Weekend 2017

The boys had 4 days off of school for Memorial Day weekend, but we couldn't go anywhere because Michael has a soccer tournament. So we stayed home and did yard work - a ton of yard work. We trimmed and thinned out all our trees-we have a lot of trees-and trimmed all the bushes.

This was the start of 2 of our 4 piles of yard waste. Imagine 4 of these piles but triple the size. We kinda of got carried away, but I'm so glad we got it all done. Now our yard does not look like a jungle anymore. If only we can just get rid of all the mosquitos!

In between yard work, we watched some soccer.

One of his soccer games got cancelled because of a huge thunder/lightning storm. We got caught in it and Mark freaked out and screamed the whole way to the car. We were all soaked by the time we got to the car so he wanted to take his shirt off.  The blanket calmed him down...

We also found some time for swimming...

he got cold so this was how he warmed up.

Then he went inside, grabbed a bag of chips with some water and relaxed. he said it felt like he was on vacation at a resort. Haha!

Skip Day and Graduation

On Wednesday, I surprised Mark with a skip day. I broke the news when he woke up and he was very happy. He's been wanting to go see the "Wimpy Kid" movie so that's what we did.

We were almost the only people in the theater. It was us and 3 other people.

After the movie, we picked up Matthew from school early and went to lunch.

The next day was PreK graduation for Mark. We were taking pictures and he said he wanted to take a selfie with his iPad. So he did.

We got flowers fro Mrs. Barker and Mrs. Bonner. These were sooo pretty.

The stage is set!

And here they are.

These kiddos performed 3 songs for us and then were called up one at a time to walk across the stage.  It was so cute.

Mark was in a mood and didn't want to take pictures with anyone. I was lucky to get a few of him smiling. no pictures of me and him because he refused...

Then we went out to dinner to celebrate the next day with these guys and grandma & grandpa. His choice? Hibachi.

Dragons vs. Dragons

Michael had his final soccer game in middle school yesterday at Dragon Stadium. Carroll Middle lost to Dawson 0-1 so it was not the ending that Michael wanted. It was cold and raining but we toughed it out and Michael played great. I can't wait to watch him play for his high school team.

He's playing against one of his really good friends. These two use to be on the same select team last year.

Michael F. vs. Michael G.

They will be playing on the high school team together next year. Can you spy the little photobombed in behind Michael?

Soccer & More Soccer

We had another weekend full of soccer games. Mark's team was invited to play in the SoccerFest tournament because they were one of the tops teams in their age bracket. Michael also had a tournament so we watched a lot of soccer this weekend.

Mark working hard on that ball. He played 2 games on Saturday. He didn't play very well during the first game, but did great the second game. He even scored the first goal!

They placed second. During the walk to get their medals, I saw this. These two are best friends and so darn cute!

Waiting for their medals...

Go Rangers! Can't wait to see what they can do next season!

Michael also played well. His team won 2 and tied 2.

Oh, we threw a birthday party into the mix on Sunday so it wasn't ALL about soccer. Mark helped Jaxson celebrate his birthday at a trampoline park. These boys have known each other since they were 2.

Loves making funny faces....

Eighth Grade Graduation, Six Flags and Field Day

My weeks are going so fast as we get closer to the end of the school year. Lots of stuff going on in the Fishers' world. Michael had his 8th grade Promotion Ceremony on Tuesday. My little man got all dressed up! So handsome.

Then a couple of days later, Matthew had his 6th grade field trip to Six Flags. I'm not an amusement park fan, but I was happy to spend my day with this one and his buddies.

The group went on Mr. Freeze except for these two. They opted to wait and it was a loooong wait. While they waited, they played some games, won a couple of prizes....

...met up with a few other friends...

...went on this ride a gazillion times before they group finally emerged from the ride.

Then on Friday, this little guy had his Field Day! He was so excited for the games.

I love this little group. Mark will miss them so much next year.
