Mom and Son Night

Mark's school held a special event for us mommies and our little men on Friday. We had our very first Mother and Son night filled with dodgeball and Nerf gun war. It was a little bit rough for me and I didn't really enjoyed getting shot at by these little stinkers, but it was a very memorable night with my monkey. He had SO much fun with his friends.

Getting ready for our first dodgeball game. Littlest kids there.

ready to catch a ball to throw at Mamma!

It was a tough when you are half the size of almost everyone....

Then it was time for Nerf War. He was seriously fierce!

Reloading behind a barrel. Haha! He was so competitive.

We still love each other after the war.

We also had a few games of tug-of-war. He had so much fun with his friend, Jack. These two went to the same Pre-K school together at CES. Now there are in the same elementary school.

I couldn't get them to pose for a non-silly picture. They hadn't even had cupcakes yet.

We met up with Dylan and Corie for a picture!

It was such a fun night. We can't wait until the next one!

Last Bit of Summer

We enjoyed the official end to our summer with some friends at the Dove Pool. All was well until someone had a epic meltdown over a snow cone and I decided it was time to leave. But we did enjoy ourselves right before then.

Two cuties in the pool.

Mark was a pro on the log pad thing. He ran through that course like he was running on solid ground. He impressed everyone who saw him.

And he loved the water slide.

The moment before everything went south. Yikes!

We also spent some time with these guys. So happy they moved here. I've known their mama since college.

Another huge milestone for my little baby - he is taking the bus to school for the first time. I was on the fence about him doing this because he's so little. We did a trial run one day and he LOVED it. The first words he said to me when he got off the bus after school were, "Buy me a bus pass." This was his first official school bus riding day.

He waits for the bus with our little 2nd grade neighbor. They have gotten to be good friends and love looking for unique acorns together in the morning. I will miss him being little so much!

This guys had also been busy officiating soccer games when he's not playing soccer. He complains about it, but he likes the numbers he's seeing in his bank account. Haha! I keep telling him it's one of the best jobs he will ever have. He gets about $20 a game - so he's getting paid $20 an hour to work outside. I would do it in a heartbeat if I were 14.

First School Week

It has been a busy week! The first week of school is almost over and my head is spinning. Ha! That always happens this time of year and before I know it, Christmas is here. I'm so thankful for the cooler weather.

We started off back-to -school events with a swim party for Michael and his YMSL class. I can't believe how much these boys have grown. They are starting to look like men!

Mark discovered non-fiction books and he loves them. He has been reading the Guinness Book of World Records.

We had Meet the Teacher for the first time at Walnut Grove. It was chaos as expected. I'm just happy he agreed to take pictures.

Mark with Mrs. Taylor.

After meet the teacher, some kinder kids got together for a little swim party to get to know each other. It was a blast!

The next day, Mark had his first soccer game of the season. There was a big change this season - they played with a referee for the first time!

After the game, we walked over to watch Sydney play her game. Then these two shared some snacks.

It was finally here! The eve of the first day of Kindergarten for this little boy. Mrs. Taylor gave him some green glitter to sprinkle on under his pillow for a good night's sleep. She was smoking crack if she thought I was going to let him sprinkle glitter (my arch nemesis) under his pillow. So I told him that the glitter had to stay in the baggy or it would lose it's magic. We placed the whole bag under his pillow.

First Day of School. Hallelujah!

I love these guys, but it was time for them to go!

Then the moms celebrated with Muffins and Mimosas!

The next day, we had an impromptu playdate with some new friends. this is mark with Hailey. He's been playing with her all week.

On Thursday, we met up with Kim and Reagan. The moms got a chance to catch up and these two cuties played.

They heart each other.

I've also taught Mark how to vacuum. He loves to do it. We will see how long this lasts....

That was our week! Looking forward to another busy week next week.
