Around Here Lately...

Just a quick post to catch up! I wore my Bond girl shirt to go vote for a bond that came up for election for our schools. My friend who's on the school board gave this to me and told me to wear it everyday until the voting closes. Couldn't promise her that, but I did wear it to vote!

My littlest guy is officially registered for Kindergarten! We went to his Kindergarten Preview and he walked through the front door all by his own. Insert sad face.

My college friend who will be moving here in the summer flew in to have her little guy attend their Kindergarten Preview too so we met up after for dinner at CM.

This guy was tuckered out and we cuddled a lot that night. So thankful this one still wants to be loved on.

This one thinks he's too cool to cuddle and hates taking pictures so I've resorted to sneaking pictures of him.

Mark had a birthday party to go to last weekend so we went to pick out a gift for his friend. He also picked out a gift for himself. Little stinker!

Birthday party with some T-ball friends!

One of my cousins came to visit us with her family for a couple of days. These two sillies decided to have their own swim party. FYI-it was freezing...

Then we went to the zoo.

Mark wanted to watch Wreck It Ralph so I put it on for him. These two got sucked in too. Love how they still stop to watch "baby" movies...

Easter Weekend

The kids had a three-day weekend because we never used our weather day last Winter. We started off the weekend with a playdate at Klyde Warren Park with some friends.

It was the perfect day for the park.

It was a little cold for the splash park, but these 2 monkeys didn't care.

These guys haven't seen each other for months so they were so happy to be together again.

And I got to catch up with the Mamas.

On Saturday, Mark had a T-ball game. It took a little talking to from Daddy to get him out on the field. He did not want to play. We will not be doing T-ball again next season...

We Celebrated Easter Sunday with a movie. Mark has been asking to go see Boss Baby so that's what we did. Michael was there too, but didn't want any pictures taken, even from the back.

These boys can't get enough of each other sometimes and at other times, they can't seem to get along.

I hadn't planned on doing an Easter egg hunt this year, but Mark brought up how excited he was to hunt for eggs so I dragged myself up Sunday morning for a Walmart run, filled the eggs, hid them and let these guys loose in our backyard. The older two amused me and participated. I may have bribed them too.

I love these boys more than anything in the whole wide world!

Odyssey of the Mind-State Finals 2017

We took a little road trip to Houston this weekend for Matthew's OTM State Competition. His team tied for third place and missed making it to World Finals by half a point. The kids were happy to make third place and the parents were so proud. But it was soooo close! In any case, they had a great time competing and we had a great time watching them. I'm so proud of them because they were one of the youngest teams and their category had the most teams competing.

Our coaches did a great job preparing the team so the parents chipped in a got them well-deserved gift cards. I volunteered to coordinate and came up with this idea to present them with their gift. I thought it turned out pretty nicely.

Houston or Bust!

My little teenager being pleasant as always....

We stayed at the St. Regis and there was a pool - it was cold but these guys didn't mind.

Love it when they get along.

Aren't these lovely?

Thought the hotel, there were beautiful flower arrangements and I thought I should take some pictures and try to replicate them one day. These smelled so good.

After dinner, we stopped for ice cream. I had Kit-Kat in mine and it was delicious.

Enjoying his robe.

We woke up bright and early the next morning and stopped for breakfast before we headed over to Waller High School for the competition.

Coach Anne giving a last-minute pep talk.

The kids made all their costume and did all the make-up without adult assistance. Not bad...

The team is ready to knock it out of the part-which they did!

Matthew has decided to take a break from OTM next year. We are going to try our hardest to convince him to reconsider. It's such a great experience for him and we enjoy watching him compete so much that we will really miss it!
