Weekend of Soccer

Michael had a soccer tournament so I watched a lot of soccer this weekend! He had 4 games in 2 days so I'm sure he's exhausted this morning and will not want to do anything at all.

On Friday, Mark was suppose to go a to a friend's birthday party at the movies. When we got there, he decided that he did not want to watch Toy Story 4 and refused to stay. I was a little embarrassed, but I knew that he was not going to give in so we wished his friend a happy birthday, gave him his gift and we left. I just did not have it in me to make him stay. Plus, I know he was tired and cranky. I had to return a few things at Grapevine Mills and that's what we did. We had a little snack at the food court while we were there and he was happy again.

Saturday was pretty much all day of soccer. We went to the afternoon game, but halfway through, it got cancelled because of lightning. They tied this game 1-1. These were all the pictures I got because I didn't remember to take my big camera.

Later that evening, the sky cleared out and the 2nd game was on. Mark was spending the night Thanda's house. After we dropped him off, we went up to Plano to check out Legacy Hall. What a neat place. It's basically an upscale food hall, but on steroids. There were 3 stories of food and drink places. Outside, there was a seating area with lots of picnic tables, an open lawn area with seating and a stage with a big screen. We were only there to eat, but what great place to hang out on a nice evening.

Michael played really well and his team won the game 2-0. Yay! Sunday was another day full of soccer. His team won the morning game, but lost the afternoon game so they ended up placing 2nd at the tournament, which was disappointing.

Last night, I noticed how pretty Mark's hair was so I had to take some pictures. He had the Farrah Fawcett flip going on.

Today is going to be devoted to running errands and packing for our trip to California so off I go!

Long Week

Well, Mark had a rough start this week, but it got better for him. Sunday night, he started feeling well and I just assumed it was because he was tired. He had complained of a sore throat earlier during the evening, again I didn't think too much of it. He had a bit of a fever so I gave him some Motrin and put him to bed. He woke up the next morning and was ready to go, but he felt a little warm and complained that his throat was really sore. I gave him some Motrin and got him ready for his first tennis lesson. He did so well during tennis and he looked like he was having a great time.

After we got back from tennis, I had to take Michael to the dentist for his cleaning. Lupe was her cleaning crew was coming over to clean so we went out to lunch so we were not in their way. When we got home, Mark swam and played outside for a little bit. During dinner, he said he couldn't eat because his throat was hurting too badly. I looked in his mouth and saw that he had red spots on the roof of his mouth. I googled it and found that it was usually a symptom of strep that. Then it all came together for me. Duh! The sore throat, the fever and now the red spots. So, I took him to urgent care. He tested negative for strep throat, but the doctor said it was probably a false negative since he had all the symptoms (swollen lymph nodes, fever, etc.). She prescribed antibiotics.

He looked miserable while we waited for the doctor.

The next morning, he seemed excited to go to tennis lesson and had not had a fever, so I took him. He had a great time. After his lesson, he wanted to go get some tennis balls to practice hitting so we took a quick trip over to Academy to get him some balls. Then we practiced hitting for a little bit before I went to workout. Then we swam. I even got into the pool!

That night, he complained that his palms and the bottom of his feet were itchy and sore. I looked and there were little tiny red bumps on them. They looked like ant bites, but he swore that they were not. He had a hard night trying to go to sleep. He finally fell asleep after I gave him some Benadryl, but woke up again in the middle of the night because we had another loud thunderstorm.

Needless to day, the next morning he did not want to go to tennis. All the issues and the illness that he was having all week finally caught up with him and he had a major meltdown. So, I relented and we skipped tennis. We just hung out at the house. I got caught up on some chores then we went over to my friend Kristy's house to swim before we had to be back home for his piano lesson.

By Thursday, he was back to his normal self and felt ready to go back to tennis. It was prize day! He was surprised because he thought he missed it. I signed up to volunteer at Feed Our Kids today with Michael and Matthew so my friend sent her nanny over to come pick up Mark so he can play with her kiddos at Urban Air while I did that with the older boys.

Matthew wasn't feeling well, so he ended up not coming to Feed the Kids with us, but Michael enjoyed working this one. He had his buddies with him and they were being so funny. I loved eavesdropping on their conversations.

After dinner and after I dropped Michael off at his soccer practice, mark and I met Thanda and her kiddos to check out this sno cone stand in our little town. It's been trending on FB so we decided we need to try. It was a perfect night for snow cones.

We let them play until I had to go and pick Michael from practice. Look how much bigger Michael is than Mark...

M was away again this whole week so I'm so happy he will be home today. Then next Tuesday, we will be headed to California!

Weekend Celebrations

Hello Monday! We had such a great weekend. Lot's to celebrate this weekend.

This little guy slept in until about 9 Friday morning. He's been sleeping in a lot all week.

On Friday, we had planned on going out to celebrate Matthew's birthday with dinner at an Hibachi restaurant. Well, true to form, he decided that he would rather go over to a friends house instead so we went out to dinner without him.

But we picked him up later that evening so we can celebrate with cake. Grandpa and Jennie came over to join in on the celebration, but I got very few pictures. Boo...

Saturday morning was gorgeous so I took my coffee outside in the morning. Then I went and practiced Yin Yoga. I'm not sure if this class is for me. I love all the stretching, but am looking or a little more of a challenge.

Then I dropped Mark off at friends' birthday party. The birthday boys are triplets! So fun!

When we got home, Mark insisted we go to Target and get Monopoly. He apparently has become obsessed. I started playing with him and Daddy took over for me while I did some chores around the house.

M went over to his guys night and Mark and I tried swimming, but it was cold. I lasted for less than 5 minutes in the pool. Haha!

We celebrated our main guy the next day. Mark picked out the card and couldn't wait to give it to Daddy.

Later that day, a huge storm rolled in dropping so much rain and hail that it flooded our patio. Our pool looked like it was going to overflow so M had to go out and pump out some of the water out of the pool during the height of the storm.

These guys stayed nice and dry playing Monopoly.

When the rain died down, we went over across the street to Grandpa's to wish him a Happy Father's Day. The Fisher men/boys/baby all together.

FOURTEEN!

Matthew Lee Fisher, you were born today at about 2am in the morning fourteen years ago. You were determined to do it your way right from the beginning. We went into the hospital to get induced at midnight and wasn't really expecting you to arrive until much later. I was thinking at least 7am?

So there we were going through the process. At about 1am, Dad said he wanted to go and get a quick sleep at home. I agreed. Not 30 minutes later, the nurse came in to check and said that we had better call him back in because this baby is ready to come out!

The first time I saw you, my first thought was that you had a big nose. A nose which is now so beautiful after you have grown into it. I should have known how stubborn you will grow up to be because the nurse probably spent 30 minutes during the first few hours you were born to get your eyes open for pictures. You refused. She tried wetting your hair and wetting your face several times. You were not going to open your eyes for anything. She finally gave up and took those pictures with your eyes closed.

Then the next day, they took you out to test your hearing. They came back and said that they couldn't test because your brainwaves were too active and that we would have to come back later in the week. Seriously, being difficult even before you even know what being difficult meant.

But this is what makes you who you are and I am very glad that you will not do anything that you do not want to. I'm not happy about it sometimes, but that's OK. You are so sweet to me sometimes. You still give me hugs and kisses and will sometimes want to cuddle with me still. Up until about 2 months ago, you still asked to be tucked in at bedtime.

On this day and every day after, I hope that you know how much I love you! Happy 14th birthday, Matthew!

Happy Friday

We've had such a great week. M comes home from traveling all week this week and we've got some celebrating to do this weekend. Matthew's birthday is Saturday and Father's Day on Sunday! Linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea again this week.

{ONE}
My middle turns FOURTEEN this Saturday. We will be celebrating tonight with dinner at a restaurant of his choice and cake at home with the g-parents. This picture was taken about 3 weeks ago. We were the same height. Sometime between now and then, he got taller than me. Love him so much. He tells me he loves me at least 4 times a day.

{TWO}
The weather was my favorite this week. I can't get over how nice it has been. Mark tried to swim yesterday and the day before but after about 15 minutes, he got out of the pool and said it was getting too cold. Haha! Too cold to swim in Texas in the middle of June? Crazy. I'm not complaining though because I love it!

{THREE}
Summer school ends today for Michael. Not that it is taxing on me. It's just that it's another trip I don't have to make. I feel like I've been busier driving all over town this week then during the school year.

{FOUR}
VBS. Mark has been going to WC VBS for the past couple of years and he's had so much fun. My friends Trish and Tonda are the guides for Mark's group and they are just angels. I can't manage these rowdy kids, but they do and they do it with so much laughter and enthusiasm.

{FIVE}
My gardenias! This gardenia plant has died at least 3 times or so I thought. Every summer it gets all brown and the leaves burn because it gets so hot here. Every winter it gets wilted and the leaves drop because it gets freezing cold. But every Spring, it comes back. Not full blown bush, but it gets new leaves and turns green again. However, it has not flowered since the first year I planted it. A few weeks ago, it got it's fist bloom! Now it has quite a few more blooms and smells heavenly! It still looks straggly, but blooming.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend of celebrating those awesome Daddies!
