4 Months Old!

My little Marky, you are 4 months and 3 days old today.  I should have done a post 3 days ago when you turned 4 months, but I figured since we are visiting Dr. Scott today, I might as well wait so that I can have your latest stats.

You are a happy, busy baby most of the time.  You are not sleeping through the night yet.  You have a bottle at about 10 and then wake up for another feeding at 2-3 in the morning.  Then you'll wake up again at about 6 for your morning bottle. You are sleeping better because you are in our bed. Your napping is still pretty inconsistent.  I don't know if that will ever change.  Ms. Sarah said you slept for 5 hours yesterday. Other days you'll take catnaps.

You are right on schedule with your development.  You are holding your head up, smiling, laughing, and rolling over occasionally.

You love to watch your brother.  You are enamored with your Daddy.  When you hear his voice, you stop whatever you are doing and look around for him.  You get so excited to see him and are content to lay there and just stare at him when he's around. You love me too, but it's very obvious that you prefer your Daddy.

4 months and 3 days Stats:

Weight: 14 lbs.
Height: 25.25 Inches
Head: 17.25 Inches around

Dr. Scott recommended we wait until 6 months before we start you on cereal, but also said that it wouldn't hurt you if we did start before then.  I think we'll wait a little longer.  You are average height, but a little under average on weight.  You are in the 90th percentile for your head, so you have a bigger head than the average baby. Haha...

• You have eczema-boo, but it's starting to look better.  We are lubing you up with CeraVe lotion and it seems to be helping
• You wear size 2 diapers
• You are taking about 5-6oz bottles every 4-5 hours.  Dr. wants us to go 8oz bottles every 6 hours.  We are working towards that, but you have a hard time finishing that amount.  You throw up if we go over 6 or 7 ounces. 
• Your eyelashes are comin gin nnicely-they are getting almost as long as Michael's
• The right side of your head is a little flat, but Dr. says it should even out if we don't let you lay down on it for too long during the day
• 9 out of 10 people agree that you look like your Daddy!

                           

Yee-Yee Came to Visit

We had a very fun and busy weekend. Yee-yee flew over from CA for a quick visit. We took her to soccer games and Mountasia for mini golf and go-carts. I think we wore her out. I know I was worn out. The boys wanted to go to the movies too but we just couldn’t squeeze it in.

The boys really enjoyed having here her and they were sad to see her go. An hour before we had to take her to the airport, Michael freaked because she had gone to the bathroom. He thought that she left for the airport without him. He asked “Where’s Yee-yee?” When I told him she was just in the bathroom, I can see the relief in his face. Poor baby.

Matthew had a little meltdown while mini-golfing. He kept asking for a do-over and when we refused, he kept coming up with reasons why he deserved a do-over. At one point he thought he should get a do-over because I was annoying him while he was putting. He kept asking my sister who was in the lead. That kid is competitive!

They were a little nervous to go on the go-karts, but after we started moving, they had a blast. Matthew asked to go on it again, but we didn’t have time and I was so, so tired. We had already been to 2 soccer games and I was about to fall over from exhaustion.

Unfortunately, when we got home, we had to leave right away to go to dinner. Korean food! Love it, but I ordered the wrong thing and ended up not eating what I ordered. Boo. But I enjoyed the little plates of pickled appetizers that they brought out before our meal.

Marky goes in for his 4-month check up tomorrow! Hopefully, he is on track and we can start him on solids. Excited to get his new stats!

Happy Leap Day, Y'all!

I celebrated Leap Day yesterday by going to lunch with some co-workers to eat a frog leg. This was my first time eating these little suckers. It tastes like chicken. Seriously. I can’t tell you that I wasn’t grossed out at all because I was a little grossed out. I just imagine their little tongue darting out to catch flies and eating them. Then I’m eating the frogs. Let me tell ya, these were genetic ally engineered frogs because them legs were big. I didn’t know frog legs were so meaty. Ha..ha. At least I can say they taste like chicken and mean it.

Leap Day Lunch!

My sister is flying in today from San Francisco for a quick visit. She’s not going to know what hit her because it’s going to be a BUSY weekend. Our Friday is jammed-packed with school activities, and a little bit of relaxation at the Corinthian Spa. We have soccer games on Saturday and then we will head off to Mountasia for mini golfing and go carting (great deal thanks to Groupon). Then the boys will probably want to go see The Lorax on Sunday. She will get to see a slice of what life is like. Poor girl….

Ok, so this was an excuse to post my baby's picture.  Can you blame me? He's so freaking CUTE!

Laughing

My little man can laugh and he can roll over! So excited that he’s growing up and learning new things, but I’m oh so sad that he’s growing up so fast.

The first time I saw him turn over for sure was last Thursday (2/23) when I was getting him ready for his bath. I helped him a first couple of times and he was able to roll over unassisted a couple more times. Michael and Matthew said they say him roll over about a week ago, but I wasn’t there, so I wasn’t sure that Mark actually did it.
Yesterday, Mark was on the swing and his two big bros were hanging around him and playing. I was in the kitchen and I heard a baby laugh. I ran over and there he was laughing his little head off as Michael and Matthew were jumping around, flapping their arms and hitting their heads with their knees. It is one of the sweetest sounds I’ve ever heard. Once I learn how to upload videos, I will post some.

We had pretty good weather this weekend so we were able to get outside for a little bit. I was disappointed that I had to miss Matthew’s first soccer game of the season. It was at 9 in the morning and still too cold for Mark to be out in the fields. I believe it was still in the 30s. M said that Matthew played really aggressively and was just being very pushy – Daddy was so proud. He only scored a goal, but is team won 8-4.

I did make it to Michael’s game at FC Dallas fields. It was nice and sunny when we got there, but turned cold pretty quickly. His team won 6-1. He didn’t score and goal, but got an assist with his head.

I’m so glad the weather is getting warmer and I’m really looking forward to the Spring.

This Won't Lost For Long

This was one of those weekends that wore me out.  I know there's been a lot lately.  Living with 3 boys, each one vying for attention is exhausting, but it's one of those things that I should be thankful for because there will be a time when they will stop.  And I will miss it.

Every time I feel that I'm at my wit's end, I always think if this song by Darius Rucker, I feel a whole lot better and I want to hold them in my arms forever. They grow up to fast!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! I think the kids had a great one.  How can they not with all the candy being passed out?

Their day started with a little Valentine's Day gift from Momma and Daddy.  We got Michael a drawing set and Matthew some new Pokemon cards and mini albums.  Marky got lots of love :-) They opened up their gift bags before I can even think about getting a picture.

M went out early to get me some flowers. They were beautiful and he made his own arrangement with the vase we had at home.  With a little tweaking from me, I think it turned out pretty good. We also went out for a quick breakfast at La Madeleine's.

Then it was off to school parties! We celebrated Valentine''s Day and Ms. Neathery's birthday today.  Outside + Donuts + Candy + Piñata + 22 Children = Chaos. 'Nuff said.

Ms. Eads' 1st Grade Class

The class played a game where they put a puzzle together to reveal a name.  Once they have their name, they have to go around the class to find their partner.  Matthew was "Tom."

Aiden was his "Jerry." How cute are they?!

I just hope that that they come down from their sugar high before they get home!

Little Randoms

These are little random moments from this weekend that I want to remember.

Matthew and I were watching the Grammys together last night and when they panned over to Lady Gaga Matthew said, “What the heck?” I’m guessing he didn’t dig her outfit

Michael was supposed to have a soccer game Sunday night at 7:30pm. It was freezing cold and the other team was smart enough not to show up. Michael reported that “it was raining razor-sharp ice pellets.” He may have exaggerated a little bit.

M tired to get Mark to say “da-da” all weekend. Mark did say something very close to “da-da” and M was so excited. I’ll play along.

Mark has been particular difficult this past week. My resolve to keep him out of our bed is gone in favor of sleep. So yes, we are co-sleeping. It started Saturday night.
