Another Catch Up Post

Lot's of stuff have been going on around here. It's always so busy in the Fall and to make things a little bit crazier, we decided this is the time to add a full back yard renovation to the mix. The pool is still undecided...

So let's start off with Michael's first YSML meeting of the year. They went to Christian Brother's Automotive to learn how to take care of their cars from checking the oil to changing the tires. I'm not sure how much Michael got out of the experience, but I was glad for him to get out of the house and be around fellow high school kids.

Mark helped Olivia celebrate her birthday at the park with sparklers. This was his first experience with sparklers and I was a lot nervous about it. He loved it, of course! We also did wish lanterns, which was a cool idea, but I couldn't help thinking that the lantern would fall somewhere and cause a huge fire.

Mark and I attended a Mother/Son Night at his school. It was suppose to be a color run but it rained so they couldn't do it! I am not gonna lie - I did a little dance because the thought of getting colored powder thrown all over me is not my idea of fun. It would have been really messy. So instead, we played dodgeball and a few other indoor games. Mark had a blast. I had fun too!

The next night, we went to the Kidz Bop concert with Sydney and Carter. We drove to the Toyota Music Factory complex and tried to go to dinner at the Yard House. Big mistake - the wait was way too long. Fortunately, we found another restaurant that could seat us immediately. BONUS - It was still happy hour. Mark had a Shirley Temple for the first time and loved it. He pretended that it was a sangria. I think I may have ordered too many sangrias around him. Haha...

These two were really into it...look at the concentration on their little faces!

We finally got a soccer game in for Mark last weekend! They have not played or practiced for the last 3 weeks so we were ready to see some action. It was a really fun game to watch. The kids were actually playing soccer and passing the ball to each other instead of just trying to kick the ball. Mark scored the first goal.  And, for the first time ever, everyone on the team scored at least a goal and had a least 3 assists. Coach asked for a raise. The parents agreed and tripled his salary which came out to be $0.

Those were our September highlights! October is going to be another busy month and I'm just so happy that the weather is getting cooler. Fall is my favorite season here and I am going to enjoy every minute of it.

Friday Night Lights

One of the things I love about Fall is tailgating at Dragon Stadium. Yes, we tailgate for high school football games and it's so so fun. My friend Jessica went and marked out our spot earlier in the morning so we would have spaces. That's what you have to do here.

My friends Jessica introduced to her friend, Gina, Gina is amazing. Here son, Joseph has a rare disease called Batten's Disease and she started a foundation to help fund research for rare diseases. She is so upbeat and has a huge personality. I'm so happy to know her.

Relaxing while the kids go crazy!

One of the best things about tailgating t Dragon Stadium? Everyone is a friend even if you've never met them. Haha!

Friday Night Lights is real!

Our Emerald Belles are amazing and our marching band isn't too shabby either. Although, Michael always says that the Flower Mound band is better than our. Traitor.

We heart the Dragon Spell-Out!

Love these two boys....

Seventeen!

The numbers that have been really great for me are the numbers 1 and 7. This weekend, we celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. Since the last 2 couples' trips have not been stellar (Hawaii last July, M lost his job & South Beach this summer, I was sick as a dog), I wanted to have an anniversary weekend. M made reservations for dinner in Dallas and we stayed at the Crescent Court hotel. It was a nice little getaway to celebrate our marriage.

One and seven are my favorite numbers and I have no doubt that year 17 is going to be a great one. I am so thankful for M and am loving the life we built together.

We were such babies. Matthew always says I look more Asian intros picture. Haha...

I convinced M to snap a quick picture before we headed out to dinner. The lobby of the Crescent Court was so beautiful. I loved all the fresh flowers they had.

The next morning we headed across the courtyard and had breakfast at this this cafe called Ascension. The weather could not be any nicer - it was one of the first cooler days this month. My breakfast - it was pretty yummy!
Happy 17th Anniversary to my partner and best friend. I'm so excited for the nest 17 years and beyond!

Soccer, Soccer!

We took a little road trip to Arkansas this weekend to watch Michael play with his NPL game. I haven't seen him play lately and I thought this Labor Day weekend would be a great opportunity to get away with the family.I love road trip big or small with my boys. Mark also loves it because he loves seeing the welcome signs in each state.

We had a couple of less to our trip. Michael first game was in Springdale, AR. How sweet is my baby sleeping? He missed the Oklahoma welcome sign because he was asleep.

We stayed in Roger for the night and drove to Springdale the next day to watch the first game. These three were waiting for the rest of the team. I was told that this field is next to the Tyson chicken plant and that it would really stink. I was really nervous because I'm really sensitive to smell. I was thankful that it did not smell bad at all.

After the game, we drove to Little Rock. We checked into our hotel and then headed out to meet the team for a team dinner. While we waited for M to pick up dinner for the team, this little guy hung out with me on the patio.

Michael and his teammates hung out while they waited for their food.

We stopped at Michael's favorite place for lunch on the way to Little Rock - Steak and Shake.

After the team dinner, we went back tour hotel and woke up bright and early for an 8 o'clock game.

After the game, we went back to the hotel to pack and headed home. Mark learned show to shell sunflower seeds on his own. Such a proud boy!
