Memorial Day Weekend 2016

Another year of summer has began and it's going to be a busy one.  The boys will be out of school in 3 days.  Seriously, where did the time go.  I am so looking forward to this summer but another school year is ending in a blink of an eye.  How am I old enough to have an 8th grader already?!

We didn't have any big plans for Memorial Day.  Michael had a soccer tournament so that kinda was our plan.

The kids had a 4-day weekend and we started it off with Mark's Pre-K Celebration on Thursday. It was sort of like a Pre-K graduation if there's such a thing. The kiddos performed a few songs and they were so darn cute.  I loved it!  Then their named got called out as they walked off the stage to watch a slideshow.  Ugh! Growing up too fast.  Thankfully, Mark has another year of Pre-K before he starts Kindergarten.

Walking on stage to take his place...

Waiting to watch the slideshow with his friends!

His teacher Mrs. Poole.

And Mrs. Miller. I love Mrs. Miller and so does Mark. She's the only one who can convince Mark to walk into the gym during drop off when he's clingy in the morning.

On Friday, we took them to see "Angry Birds." Mark loved it. I think the other liked it. Love my people!

Waiting for the movie to start...

He would not agree to be in a picture unless it was a selfie.

On Sunday, while M and Michael were at the soccer tournament, so me and the two younger boys met up with some friends at this hole in the wall restaurant on the dock of Lake Grapevine.  It was a the perfect day for lunch on the lake!

Mark got to feed the ducks.

On Memorial Day, Michael was at a friend's house most of the day. Mark swam the whole day and Matthew was upstairs most of the day.  All is good with the world!

Field Day, Birthday Party and a Dinner Date

Mark had his first field day and I'm pretty sure he enjoyed the whole thing.

Walking out to the "field" which was actually the parking lot of the school because it rained the night before and the fields were a muddy mess.

Class picture time before they went out to play. There were 3 different backgrounds so of course we had to take all three.

Y'all, it was like herding cats....

This was the first event.

Mark with one of his best friend.

The 4th graders got to help the little ones and this 4th grader was awesome.  He was so enthusiastic and seemed to really enjoy playing with the little ones. He asked Mark for a high-five.  He was so sweet!

This was Mark when I pulled up to pick him up after school.  Love him!

We got home and rested for a little bit and then it was off to Jaxson's birthday party!

These two have known each other half their lives - since 2 :-)

M took Michael down to Granbury for a weekend tournament so it was just these two and me Friday night.  It was so beautiful out so we decided to sit out on the patio at Central Market dinner.  Love these boys!

Meanwhile, Michael and his Texan teammates placed 2nd in their tournament.  Go Texans!

Dragon vs. Dragons

Michael had his last middle school soccer game of the season yesterday.  His Carroll Middle School team played the Dawson Middle School team at Dragon Stadium. SO fun to watch him play against his friends and teammates from the select soccer teams.

Numbers 2, 4 and 15 are teammates on the Dallas Texans.  They are going up against each other here.

Michael G. vs. Michael F.

Nick vs. Michael G.

Mark being silly during the game.

More game pictures...

They are playing against each other now but in 2 years some of these boys will go on to high school and be teammates.

Dallas Texan teammates - Michael, Michael and Nick.  Such handsome boys!

First Swim Weekend

This was at the first weekend when it's almost warm enough to swim so that's what we did.  M heated up the pool and they boys spent all of Saturday swimming.  I stayed in the hot tub because even heated, the pool was still too cold for me.

Then we went out for Korean Barbecue. Mark was so excited to go. He kept telling me to order him the broccoli and brisket.

After dinner, we to Rita's for Italian ice.  No one wanted their picture taken thus the horrible pictures...

On Sunday, we swam some more and this guy rode around on his trike. I love this picture.  He is the spitting image of his Daddy when his Daddy was this age

Fieldtrip

Mark and his class took a field trip to Legoland in Grapevine yesterday.  Parents weren't invited, but before they went to Legoland, they made a stop at one of our local parks and parents were invited to that.  Loved watching him play with his classmates!

He didn't to play in the sand or the water because that would be very messy before getting back on the bus so he asked to go back to the park after school.  How can I deny this little boy?  So I packed his swim things and a towel and he got to get messy in the sandbox and run wild in the water feature.

But not before a little snack...

Love this little monkey!
