Sunshine

Phew!  We had a quite a busy day yesterday - so busy that I made of list of what I needed to do.

I dropped off Mark at the Gs and went to the gym, went to pick up the clap-out shirts, returned a few things at a couple different stores, got the boys their graduation outfits and was on my way to pick up Mark for a playdate with Reagan when I realized I had left my cellphone somewhere along the way.

UGH! I was infuriated with myself.  I had to leave Mark with the Gs for a little longer, drove over to meet Kim and Reagan to tell them that I needed to find my phone.

I used Kim's phone to call the places that I was at and was relieved to find it at TJMaxx.  So I drove over there to pick it up, drove back to the Gs to pick Mark up and then back to Central Market so that Mark can have at least a little bit of play time with Reagan in the small window of sunshine.

They were so cute.  Reagan is one of the few friends that Mark will share his toys with.  He even saved some gummy bears for her.

We were trying to get them to pose for a picture, but they kept cracking each other up.

Then they were done with standing still...

Rainy Monday

It was a wet and rainy day yesterday so Mark wanted to play out on our patio. But first, he needed a cold drink.

Then the storm came in and our spout started to gush to his delight.

He loves playing with the rainwater.  He takes it from the spout to his water table and pretends to make tea for a tea party.

"Do you want some tea? I have coffee, regular tea and sweet tea.  What would you like?"

I got cold so he asked for a sweater. The rained turned part of our yard into a muddy puddle, but I don't mind.  I love the rain.

There was so much rain that the water started get on the patio.  Mark wanted to seep it off.

Our gutters have not been cleaned out since we've lived here so it's causing some issues with our roof.  M and Michael attempted to clean parts of it off yesterday.

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day!  We didn't have plans this year and it's probably a good thing because it would have been washed out anyway with all the rain and storms.

It's been a busy couple of weeks since school will be over soon.  I've been going to PTO board installation luncheons and "pass the book" meetings and meetings with my new co-chairs for both EIS and DIS.  Thanks goodness M has been home so I can actually attend these events without taking Mark with me.

Last Tuesday, after a quick meeting with my Spirit Shop co-chair, I went to Sonic and picked up lunch for Michael.  Then Mark and I stopped at Chick-fil-a for some lunch and of course, he had to trade his kids' meal toy in for an ice dream cone.

After we dropped Mark off at the Gs on Wednesday, M and I surprised Matthew with lunch.  He was so happy to see us.  Then M and I went on a lunch date before heading back to pick up Mark.

I was in the mood for a Mooyah burger after my Pilates class so that's where we headed off to.  Can you tell that Mark loves his milkshake?

We didn't do much over the weekend.  The boys played with their friends.  I did some laundry and we hung out outside for a little bit until the mosquitos started to get hungry. It was rainy and windy, but we didn't mind.

This will be a short school week, especially for Michael. He will be in school for 3 days because we will be leaving for Houston for a soccer tournament Friday morning. We are leaving Mark and Matthew with the Gs for the weekend.

Dinner Date

M had to pick his dad up from the airport in Dallas Saturday evening.  He decided to take Mark with him and have dinner before going to the airport.  I took advantage and took Matthew and Michael out to dinner.  We had a great time. I love all my boys, but it was very nice to be able to focus on only these two. We need to do this more often.

He did not want his picture taken - as per usual...

Matthew was showing us Mark's thinking face.

I was happy to be able to make Michael laugh.

After dinner, we walked over to Barnes & Noble and I get them some books.  I love Amazon, but I love the bookstore better.

Then we got home and spent time on the patio listening to some party music.  It was a great way to end the day.

Field Day 2015

The rain held off on Friday for Matthew's last field day.  Thank goodness.  I know the teachers were stressed out and nervous about the whole situation.  The weather forecast was calling for 100% chance of thunderstorms so we weren't sure what was going to happen.

Fortunately, the storms never showed up.  We had some sprinkles, but not much else.  The kids got to play.  Matthew was so excited this year because he got to help the younger kids with their events.  He looked like he was having such a great time.

He got partnered up with little Elise.  She was on his first ever soccer team when they were in Kindergarten.  I just noticed now that we had his crocs on for field day - terrific.  And just a note because I'm not a bad parent - I asked him if he wanted a Field Day shirt and he said "no because they were ugly." Ninety-nine percent of the kids were wearing them.  He said he was OK with it.

4th Grade Musical - Camp Runamuck

I attended the last 4th grade musical (for at least the next 6 years) last night.  I hate to say that I'm over elementary school, but I really am.  I'm glad that it will be another couple of year before Mark get's there so I get a little break and it will all feel new again ;-)

Anyway, it always gets crazy at the school because there's never enough parking and parents line up at the door so they can save seats so Matthew and I left early.  We went and picked him up some Subway and he ate in the trunk of our car when we got to the school.

He say some friends so we went to the door and lined up so I can get a good seat.  Well, I was one of the first people there and my seat still sucked.  I have a knack for picking the worst spot for any type of viewing events.  I got the second row, but Matthew's spot in the play was on the other side of the stage and his music teacher almost completely blocked my view of him.  Tragic!

So I did not get good pictures at all. But the kiddos did a great job and sang their little hearts out.  There was a bit of drama.  One little girl fainted and fell. It was really warm and it was probably from the heat.  Poor thing.

Spring Band Concert

We enjoyed some music last night at Michael's Spring Band Concert! He and his band classmates did very well.  I loved the music and although I couldn't see him up on stage, I enjoyed watching them play.

His class played 2 songs - March of the Majestics and Engines of Resistance. I love the title of the songs.  They sound like revolutionary music, don't they?

One our way to the concert. Love my Markey's goofy smile!

And I love how he's looking at his brother in this picture!

My handsome little man.  I'm so proud of him.

These two are waiting for the concert to start. I would love to say that they abandoned the iPads in favor of listening to their brother play, but they didn't.

Actually, Mark did stop to listen for about 5 seconds....Please excuse Matthew's knee in the picture.

I couldn't get any pictures of him on stage (believe me, I tried), but a got some after he was sone with his performance.

And this happened. I thought he was fully asleep and made the mistake of asking M if he wanted to take him home.  Mark heard, woke up and remembered that he wasn't sucking on his num-num.

I was pre-panic mode because we didn't have a num-num with us I saw a huge tantrum coming on.  Thank goodness I had a lollipop in my purse!! Crisis averted...

Lately

Things are getting a little busy as the school year is coming to a close.  I can't believe the boys have less than 3 full weeks of school left!  It was like yesterday that the school year started.

Anyhoo...here is a random picture post of some things going on with the Fishers.  Not too exciting, but I'm grateful for our drama-free life.

I've been trying to get to the gym at least 5 days a week.  Mark loves to go with me because he gets to have fun while I take my classes.

We went to a Cinco de Mayo party on Cinco de Mayo.  It got very messy. I love his tiny pink sombrero!

Michael bought this fedora at his Sandy Lake band trip a few weeks ago and is quite proud of it.

Last Friday, Michael's school had a Muffins with Mom event.  He ate my food, but that's OK.  I still had fun with him. He actually agreed to take a picture with me. After that he had his field day - a day of races and outdoor games for his school.

It has been raining almost every day in April and May.  On Saturday, while M and Michael were at a morning soccer game, these little guys decided to play with the rain water on out patio.

On Sunday, he wake up and threw a fit because he wanted 3 donuts and I wouldn't give in to his demands.  I took him outside to eat to detract him and it worked. I had to take the cushions off our patio furniture because the storm that blew in the night before soaked everything on out patio.

Then he played with the rainwater again.

After a morning of water fun and couple changes of clothes, he cuddled with  Daddy and fell asleep.
So did this one.
